Our Principles

Lead with Wisdom

Wisdom is a bottomless well that can be found everywhere— you just have to choose to look for it. Our goal is to seek and share tokens of wisdom together to inspire you to live a more abundant life.

Serve with Authenticity

Authenticity is the core of our community. Our purpose is to serve as an authentic space for you to learn, evolve, and grow into the person you are meant to become.

Act with Intention

Seek to be Wise was founded on the purest intention: to inspire others to think differently about life. We strive to be a resource you can rely on to find meaning and wisdom.

Our Community

Community (n) – a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.

The Seek to be Wise community is for people like you who are striving to understand and appreciate the wisdom of what life is teaching. We encourage you to slow down, be present, reflect, learn, evolve, and grow into the person you were meant to become. Chess aims to illuminate your journey by planting seeds of wisdom for you to consider. When you feel inspired to harvest those seeds, our hope is that you will share your wisdom with others.

Giving Back

“Giving is wise living.” We should all strive to be gracious givers. Finding causes that matter to you gives you the power to make a difference in someone else’s life. Helping others leads to a more abundant life for the person you helped and blesses you for sharing your gifts and talents. Whether you contribute financially or give of your time, your efforts matter.

We sometimes question – will my gift make a difference? Aesop is quoted as saying, “No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted.” I love what Mother Teresa said, “We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.” Your acts no matter how big or small matter. We encourage you to think deeply about how you can give back to your community and or to the world. Start today! Together, there is so much we can accomplish.

With our current inflation challenges many families are managing expenses to make ends meet. Others find themselves struggling to feed their families. We currently have far to many of our local families in need of consistent access to enough food. This spring we are encouraging you to support your local community food panty/bank. Whether you donate your time or you resources, you can make a difference and bless a family in need. Thanks for your support.

“I had the privilege of working with Chess for over 30 years! In all those years, the characteristic I most admired in him was his wisdom. I always referred to him as the “Wise Old Owl” of our company. His wisdom and leadership helped guide us through the toughest of times.”

John Addison
CEO & President, Addison Leadership Group

“Christian readers in particular will appreciate Britt’s genuine guidance driven by deep faith, but any reader can appreciate his testament to picking up life-changing wisdom from those one knows best.”

Publishers Weekly

“Over time and especially into adulthood, as our world expands, our curiosity, sadly, tends to fade. Chess Britt has therefore hit a bull’s eye on one of the most vital aspects of personal success: the lifelong search for wisdom. While the most important lessons are always closest to home, the journey never stops.”
